Northern Mocking Bird
by Paul Rhymer
Location: Timrod Library

The entire BIRDS collection is located in and around Summerville’s historic shopping district. This area includes Hutchison Square, Doty Ave (both E&W), Main St, Little Main, Richardson Ave (both E&W), Short Central, Cedar St, and Central Ave.

A free, bright yellow BIRDS Brochure is available for those who like to meander on their own. This guide features a map with answer key, a photograph and identification for each bird, its sponsor, and the sculptor/artist. Additionally, each bird has a clue poem (limerick), which may be solved to locate each work!

For those who want the “back stories” of the sculpture and more information about specific artists, guided tours can be arranged by appointment. Reservations must be made in advance by emailing Sculpture in the South, or indicating your interest on the Contact page.
